This bike was modeled after the old British Triumph and BSA bikes that were run in in the Isle of Man races. The GB400 was never sold in the US and to find one in great shape here is exciting.
This bike is all original and has been gone over well. After taking it out of storage, the carb was rebuilt, the petcock was repaired, a new battery and new tires were installed and the tank was completely redone with it de-rusted and porcelain coated on the inside. It will never rust. It started on the first crank.
This bike was imported from New Zealand and I have the NZ plates and the import papers for documentation. It comes with a GB500 manual, because the only GB400 manuals are in Japanese, but most of the information is identical.
The bike is so much fun to ride, but a cafe racer stance is not for me. It is registered in California with the DMV (as a 1989 GB500) because that is the only way they could get it into the system.
This is a 1 lung thumper with a big following in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. There are many clubs and social media sites that have tons of information on this bike. 2 small differences from the photos: the gaiters were removed; An extra “ring” was added to the speedo to show MPH along with the KPH. Mileage shown is in km.
Asking $6000 which is fair for this rare model. Located in Temple City (San Gabriel Valley). Will not ship. It must be picked up. We must meet in person to make the deal. Please have cash in hand if you want a test ride.
